Lumpkin traffic stop leads to record meth bust for UCSOBy Charles Duncan Suches - A multi-million-dollar methamphetamine operation has been shut down in Suches, Union County Sheriff Mack Mason said. Sheriff Mason said a multi-agency effort, including the Federal and Georgia bureaus of investigation, led to the largest drug bust in the history of Union County – confiscation of 15 kilos of methamphetamine, worth more than an estimated $1 million. The multi-agency effort also led to the destruction of a highly productive, and profitable methamphetamine conversion laboratory in Suches, which converted liquid methamphetamine into crystal methamphetamine, Sheriff Mason said. Read more about this multi-agency investigation – a federal, state, and local partnership – that disrupted and dismantled a drug distribution network’s attempt to flood communities with this highly dangerous drug for their own financial gain. Read all about it in this week’s edition of the North Georgia News. |
