Matthew Deven Taylor, 16, killed in two-vehicle accident on Old Highway 76 on Sept. 17

Matthew Deven Taylor of Blairsville was killed in a two-vehicle accident the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Union County Coroner’s Office has confirmed. 

Taylor, 16, was driving a Suzuki motorcycle that fatally collided with the rear of a blue Ford Ranger pickup in the roadway near Gooch Trucking on Old Blue Ridge Highway that Tuesday.

It is not clear at this time what factors contributed to the crash, which is currently under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.

More information will be available upon completion of the State Patrol investigation.
